Religious Education (R.E)
RE Curriculum Statement-Interim statement.
Whilst waiting for the new curriculum in January, Hawthorne will implement an interim curriculum using the basis of the old syllabus but concentrating on 5 specific areas. The areas chosen will allow children to discover a sense of belonging, different faiths and celebrations in depth. It will give the chance for each Year group to explore important stories, festivals and customs in a way that is relevant to age. The intent is that by each year group having the same over-arching theme the same activities will not be repeated year on year and the progress of skills and understanding will be evident.
The children will be enabled to show curiosity, understanding and to demonstrate the Hawthorne values of celebrating diversity, kindness and respect.
