'Coding the Future, One Lesson at a Time'
Our curriculum principles are taught through computing.
R -Rich Vocabulary
E – Experiential
A – Aspiration
L – Life Skills
Computing is at the forefront for the next stage our children's education and being successful in the wider world.
Rich Vocabulary
Through exposure to technical vocabulary and explicit teaching, our children build and develop their technical vocabulary.
Experiential
Our children will be provided with ‘real’, memorable experiences, through purposeful learning. They will be provided with opportunities that enable them to move beyond their lived experiences, further developing their cultural capital, by using a range of technology that they may not have access to at home.
Aspiration
Our children will hold high aspirations for themselves, and the local community. They will understand the importance of not giving up and demonstrate resilience when faced with difficulties; knowing the importance of striving for our goals. They will be prepared for the next stage of their journey and be equipped to make choices about their future aspirations. By teaching computing every week, our children aspire to develop their skills and build their knowledge ready for computing at secondary school.
Life Skills
Our children will be equipped with the life skills to enable them to make choices that will keep them safe in the wider world. They will make a positive contribution to and be for prepared for life in the modern world. They are exposed to how to be a responsible digital citizen and the impact being positive and aware can have on them. They build their digital literacy skills so that they’re competent using technology effectively and efficiently.
