Science Day
Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles!
This year the whole school have blown bubbles with the help of our Science Ambassadors and assisted by our lovely parents in the afternoon. They loved it!
In Foundation they explored; What happens if you blow hard? - Soft? - How long before your bubble bursts? - Do all bubbles float? - Can you catch a bubble without bursting it?
In year's 1 and 2 they tested different bubble blowers to see which one was the best. They loved making different shapes with thier pipe cleaners to see what would happen.
In year's 3 and 4 they looked at which washing up liquid made the largest bubbles, which got even more interesting when they used string.
In years 5 and 6 they explored the question; does the strength of a solution affect how a bubble is formed. They got to independently set up their own fair investigations and evaluated their results with the rest of the class.
It was a really fun day and the feedback from the Science Ambassadors was that the children wanted to investigate bubbles every week!
